Oh boy, the werewolf one. So much good. So much bad. What am I to think?
First of all, I feel the need to point out that BSG's Doc Coddle is the handsome Montana cowboy in this one, and I totally would have missed that if Maclean hadn't pointed that out to me. Maclean was on an episode of Danger Bay with this man. Cool. Good thing Doc was in the opening scenes, because shortly thereafter, Maclean was asleep on my lap... and I never would have known!

So anyway, yet another BSG actor. Love it.
I also get kind of excited at the mention of Montana. If there is a US state that I consider part of my 'hood, it's Montana.
Well. Let's focus on the good. I love the characters, even if the acting wasn't great. I did feel like I knew where they were all coming from.
I also love the end of the episode; Scully knows what she was attacked by, but damned if she is going to say it out loud. You can almost see her shoving it to the back of her mind, where she hopes it can just stay forgotten. Serious willful ignorance happening.
M: Just pulled up and left? Why would she do that?
SHERIFF TSKANY: Brother's gone, no family. Trouble with Parker is all over. Maybe she saw something that she wasn't ready to understand.
S: (totally could have been talking about her) Maybe.

I didn't enjoy Mulder's attempts at being funny; it really fell flat for me, and I actually feel like it got in the way. This episode begins a relationship that Mulder has to Natives that we will continue to see throughout the show. I think they like him because he is open minded.
I do like the native-agents interactions, which are essentially "why should we do anything to help you when the government never helps us", which can only be responded to with "wow sorry, but we seriously don't have anything to do with that, so can you just help with our murder investigation?".
The wolf costume sucked. It just sucked. It would have been better if we hadn't seen any of it. Make it mysterious. The costume was just campy. You can tell they tried shooting in shadows and with blurred motion, but it still wasn't a good enough cover up.
The really unfortunate thing is the transformation scene rocked. If they had stopped short of the fake fur, it would have been perfect, so why push it? The actor's face was great. Though, I guess that would have eliminated the surprise of identifying the werewolf.

Don't you think that is a small price to pay for quality imagery though?
Whatever.
Flawed. Still kind of fun.
I would like to share an observation. Mulder is looking for Scully, and calls the hospital looking for her, saying he was told he could reach her there.

...Scully has no cell phone yet... is what I take away from this. Can you remember her using a cell up to this point, because I can't. Doesn't mean she didn't, because why would you bother to notice someone using a cell? It's just normal behaviour.
Except that it isn't yet, because it's 1993.
So when does Scully get a cell phone? I will be on the lookout.
Like Chris Cater said; this show couldn't have happened without them.
